2010 Color Forecast
The 2010 color forecast brings the past into the present. "In uncertain times, we find comfort n the memories and traditions that provide us with a sense of solid ground," said Jackie Jordan, Director of Color Marketing of Sherwin-Williams. "Color plays a key role in triggering our nostalgia and our forecast reflects the rediscovery of sights, sounds, smells - and colors - of the past."
With our first color palette we look to our ancestors and the natural hues that made up their world. Rich and earthy, these colors add a hint of mystery which heightens the appeal.
The second color palette for 2010 evokes the natural aging and mellowing of our heirlooms. With the rise in flea market finds, artisan made pieces and subtle imperfections the idea of old becoming new is a rising trend.
Palette three takes it tropical. Sunny days, tropical blooms and a playfulness all its own lets these colorful hues help melt your cares away. Pulling inspiration from some of the most beautiful places on earth and the natural wonders that are within them, this carefree combination will make a splash for the summer 2010 season.
Our fourth and final palette takes a step back to a sophisticated, simplistic color mix. These hues are calm with a nuance and undertones that shift with the surroundings they are in for easy versatility. 
As the end of 2009 draws near we will soon bid adieux to the colors and schemes that have graced our homes, to pay homage to our past. Whether it is rich and earthy from our ancestors, a fantastic flea market find that makes old new again, a tropical carefree essence or a simplistic touch that brings forth the right amount of sophistication each of these 2010 color palettes are sure to turn some heads.
