What is Passementerie?
Passementerie, or fancy trims and edgings, is all about adding some extra pizzazz to your project. It can be made with braid, shiny cords, embroidery, tassels, or beads to give things a fancy touch. The French really know how to make things look fancy with passementerie! In other words, it is the French word for trimmings.
What is a put up?
The number of yards on the spool. Trims produced by the yard are typically manufactured in runs of 27 yards.
What is the difference between cord and lipcord?
A lipcord will include a small border of fabric that can be inserted and sewn into a pillow or other item while a cord without a lip must be applied.
What can tassels be used for?
Tassels add a decorative touch while serving practical purposes. They can be used as stylish drawer pulls, add weight to tablecloths to keep them in place, or elegantly hold curtains open, offering both function and flair to your decor.
